Color palette tutorial time!
This is by no means the Only Way To Pick Colors—it’s just a relatively-simple method I use sometimes. I’ve found it works pretty well, almost regardless of what colors you pick—as long as you can keep them organized by those light/dark warm/cool categories, and make sure one category takes up a significantly higher proportion of page space, it usually turns out pretty good!
usa gets silver:
russia gets silver:
chinese get silver:
british get bronze:
actually, it’s been psychologically proven that bronze winners are happier than silver winners! silver winners see themselves as being “so close” to gold, while bronze winners are just happy they won a medal. so any silver medalist isn’t as happy as a bronze medalist!
Canada gets silver:
ok but it’s canada
This post is about my experience working at the furry company Bad Dragon Enterprises. [snip]
While I encourage people to generally take bits of information with a grain of salt, please understand that this is not just one person who has exclaimed these sorts of internal issues. Understand that the people harassed - who cannot speak out against it - are not singular, and it is not an attack or trolling to take anyone down. This, among various other issues, should not be glossed over simply because it is not happening to you.
Be wary of whatever damage control follows.
I would like to speak out on a few of the things that really bother me the most here, one of which impacts me directly, but now is not the time and frankly, with their eyes on me I don’t feel comfortable.
I’m not reblogging this for the sake of libel or defamation, but because I think this type of information is very important for the toy community. Where you spend your money matters. A purchase is, in many ways, an endorsement of ethics and values, whether you view it that way or not. This is far from the first time I have heard negative evaluations of Bad Dragon’s hiring, treatment of employees, intellectual property respect, and general ignorance in regards to sex and sexuality. You are welcome to make your own judgement.
Though I’m very much just starting out in this industry, and perhaps it isn’t my place to say it, but I believe it’s very important for us indie toy makers to keep tabs on who the major players in our field is. It isn’t a matter of bad-talking a major company to try to get ourselves more profit, it’s a matter of basic ethics. People need to know these things because these are things that are happening and these are things that effect real people.
Look: what we toy makers do is both a craft and an art. There are a lot of options for fantasy sex toys out there, and a lot of people who are willing to bring whatever you want to reality. There is no reason to support malicious business practices. The fact that many people are not even comfortable speaking out against BD for fear of repercussion certainly says something concerning. Artists and craftspeople should support each other, not fear reprisal from the major players.
Bolding important things in earlier replies for emphasis here because these are some damn good points that really need to be hammered in here. The entirety of the original post and these two responses should be required reading for everyone in both the furry fandom and in the sex toy community. Especially if you’re just getting started in these communities. You’re better off knowing and avoiding right out the gate than sinking a ton of money into them only to discover they’re not a good bunch.I’ve been wavering in my commitment to the self-placed boycott of Bad Dragon I still have in effect in recent days and I’m glad this post was made. Thank you for reaffirming all my reasons why I should still be boycotting Bad Dragon. I needed this a lot to keep myself from making a mistake I would have regretted later. As a general note to others, if there are BD toys you absolutely have to have, buy them secondhand. It’s better than buying straight from the company because someone’s only paid BD once for the toy and you probably have a better chance of not getting unpleasant surprise flaws that way.
the english language, everyone
This hit me like a brick
And people wonder why authors use italics and bold and shit so reader’s understand what’s going the fuck on.
And of course I just read this in my head 7 times, stressing each word differently.
The one thing that always bothers me is that the post seems to imply that this sentence is special that way, which it ain’t.
STILL COOL THINKS THOUGH
